I am not going to doubt my Mother. Some of us know that good Moms always se
em to have something to say to benefit her child or children. My neighbor of long ago would always complain she did not have enough time in the day. She did not have time for this and did not have time for that. My Mother would say, "You can tell old M. is getting older now." I said, "How do you know?" She said, "when you get older, you do not move as fast as you did when you were young." Well, I guess it just hit me. On my job, I use to breeze through my tasks. Always had time to do more. Now, I do basically the same thing and I do not have enough time in the day to complete the tasks. However, the younger people are finished and waiting and looking at the clock.
I also noticed at lunch time, the younger people are flying by me for lunch and still have time to go to the Bank and the Post Office. I have to schedule my time to take extra time. When I have to go to the upstairs meeting room, the younger people run up the steps, touching every two steps. When I get there, they are asking if I want some water or coffee. Well, it may be me. However, the young people always ask, "Mr or Dr. R., can I help you do something?" I am thinking, not only are they quick enough to do theirs, they are asking to help me also. I guess I am just like a Boxer, rather than fight the younger ones, I should be training them. Age catches up. As long as I can keep up with my age I will be fine. I think my Mother was right. Good Night, Mom.
