Treasures in Heaven

We lay up treasures in heaven when we consider that all we have belongs to God and we use it to magnify His righteousness and advance His kingdom (Matt 6:33). It means much more beloved than merely giving offerings to God (does He need them?), although that is important. It means total stewardship of life so that God is in complete control and our one desire is to glorify Him.
We need a good prayer life. Our public prayer is only as good as our private prayer, and our private prayer should be secret, sincere, systematic. Prayer is a pattern for us to follow so that we will put God's concerns first and not forget to forgive others.
I can say without fret, that this is the secret of a "Unified Life" (Matt 6:24) free of worry. God knows we need things to live and God provides those things for us. Now, acquiring things must not be the main goal in life. When you live for things they capture our life and that is definitely the heart (our soul, our conscience), then our minds become divided, then the will is controlled, and the result is "Worry."
The solution of course is to always keep God first. You and I must start now, this very day to live with eternity values in our view.
